Final days until popular sporting goods retailer closes 4 stores - shoppers told to visit location 2

OUTDOOR retailer Camping World is closing at least six locations nationwide this month.

With some stores already shut and others open for a few more days, customers are changing their plans for RV and camping related purchases.

Shoppers at one of the shutting locations in Amarillo, Texas were met with a sign on the door directing customers to the next closest location — two hours away in Lubbock.

Similar distances await brand-loyal customers in several other states.

CAMPING OUT

The Amarillo location, another branch in Marion, Illinois, and two locations in Idaho will close on October 27.

The next closest Camping World to the shutting Marion store is over two hours away in Wentzville, Missouri, on the other side of St. Louis.

To the south and east, the next closest location is in Kentucky, three hours away.

Marion’s location did not last long, opening in September of 2019.

The store’s employees only found out about the closure less than three weeks in advance, according to one worker who posted on Facebook.

In Garden City, Idaho, outside Boise, Camping World closed its RVs.com showroom and separate RV repair facility.

Luckily for residents of the Gem state, Camping World has another location just an 11 mile drive away in Meridian, Idaho.

Customers have only days to say goodbye to their local stores, which are known for their recreational vehicles.

MORE CLOSURES

These are not the only Camping World locations to shut down this month.

Another location in Hermantown, Minnesota, outside Duluth, shut down on October 20.

A Kenosha, Wisconsin store also closed on the same day.
